Through TVET, the programme equips youth and women with employable skills for self-reliance. The training creates sustainable learning opportunities that nurture empowerment and socio-economic inclusion. The approach helps break cycles of marginalization and vulnerability that undermine development. With support from Stromme Foundation, WAV trains adolescent girls in event decoration, shoemaking, barbershop management, basket weaving, and sofa making. Many beneficiaries now operate businesses in Central Equatoria State.
Through community-managed Saving Groups/VSLA groups, the intervention builds the capacity of men, women, girls, boys, and youth in business selection, planning, and management. Beneficiary selection is based on vulnerability, willingness, and community interest. Members learn to collaborate, develop positive mindsets, and build profitable enterprises.
Through Bonga intervention, adolescent boys and girls gain life skills, employable skills, improved self-esteem, and communication skills, making them resilient to daily challenges. Community leaders help mobilize participants and ensure ownership and sustainability through Bonga Forums.
