This area focuses on conflict management, conflict analysis, mediation, reconciliation, and forgiveness toward a peaceful and inclusive society for sustainable development. It also promotes democratic principles, access to justice, and human rights awareness. Peacebuilding is one of WAV’s core thematic areas. With support from UNDP and PAX, we advocated for community peace and social cohesion among communities in Lakes State, Western Equatoria State, and Unity State. In Western Equatoria and Lakes State, we formed peace committees that help with conflict early warnings and dispute resolution, including farmer–cattle keeper conflicts. We also have PSS groups who support counseling and trauma healing.
