The department employs a holistic framework to create an environment that promotes full respect for the rights of individuals, with special consideration for women and children. Key areas include child protection against abuse and exploitation, gender-based violence, psychosocial care services, access to justice, peacebuilding, and good governance pillars. WAV has supported several women and girls across South Sudan in GBV prevention and response through awareness raising, capacity building, and counseling of GBV survivors, with support from NPA, UNHCR, OXFAM, and SSHF. We also promoted women’s participation in politics and good governance of their state with support from partners such as Democracy International and UNDP.
